Environment Week

June 5, 2016 - June 11, 2016

Environment Week in Canada is celebrated during the week of June 5th, which the United Nations has adopted as World Environment Day. Environment Week has been celebrated in Alberta since 1972. Participating in local Environment Week events is a great way to discover easy things you can do for the environment. The choices you make – big and small – really do make a difference because your action counts!

You can download a poster and plenty of classroom resources from Alberta Environment and Parks. You may also want to participate in the national Commuter Challenge that runs through Environment Week. The Commuter Challenge encourages Canadians to leave their cars at home and rewards walking, cycling, carpooling/ride-sharing, taking transit and telecommuting.
