Task: Have each student (or a small group of students) select an animal (companion, farm, or wild) and tell us:

  • why the animal counts
  • what actions people need to do to provide proper care and treat the animal with respect

Use the ‘Every One Counts’ discussion questions to get your students thinking!

Format: Present your class’ ‘Every One Counts’ as a bulletin board, video, poems, posters, PowerPoint, display, etc. BE CREATIVE!

Judging Criteria:

  • Diversity of animal species
  • Quality of production appropriate to grade level of students
  • Creativity
  • Reflection of Alberta SPCA’s philosophy of animal welfare
