Alternatives provide students the opportunity to learn about body systems without requiring them to dissect animals.
Research demonstrates that alternatives are equal to, or better at, meeting learning outcomes when compared with dissection. Alternatives also reduce the number of animals used in science, which is one of the principles of the 3Rs.
