Somerset School, Calgary

Ms. Gisowski’s grade 2 students “really enjoyed the program.” They created a Kindness Tree with kind acts towards animals, people and the environment! Way to go grade 2!

Forest Heights, Edmonton

Ms. Maloney’s grade 1 students enjoyed the AnimalTales program. They “had lots of great discussions” and the students created posters about being responsible for pets. Way to go grade 1!!

Hawkwood School, Calgary

Ms. Cooper’s grade 2 students participated in AnimalTales! They had some great classroom discussions and even participated in a service learning project with another class in the school. Way to go grade 2!

Meyokumin School, Edmonton

Mrs. Jolly’s grade 2 class participated in AnimalTales. They enjoyed reading the books, having class discussion and doing the writing activities. The class especially enjoyed the Charades activity that demonstrated how we (and our animals friends) use body language to communicate. Way to go grade 2!!  

St. Justin Catholic School, Edmonton

Ms. Wojcichowsky’s grade 3 students participated in AnimalTales. They enjoyed the connections between the books and their science unit on animal life cycles and social unit on global citizenship. Way to go grade 3!!  

Central High Sedgewick Public School, Sedgewick

Mrs. Skoberg’s students enjoyed the books and related discussions from the AnimalTales program. Her students related really well to animals and found the concepts easy to grasp. The students were appalled that there are people who mistreat animals. Way to go!

Westgate School, Calgary

Mrs. Sasse’s grade 2 students “loved the stories” in AnimalTales. Students enjoyed the discussions and activities in the program. Group work went more smoothly as student reminded each other to show respect as they would to non-human animals. Students also created depictions of a boy and his dog max communicating through non-verbal language.    

Mundare School, Mundare

Mrs. Sobkow’s grade 4 students enjoyed the books in AnimalTales. They had great discussions and learned some new vocabulary. Way to go grade 4!
