École Meridian Heights School, Stony Plain

Mrs. Forsberg’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed all the stories and had great discussions after reading them around their pets and how to be responsible pet owners. The students also started a Kindness Tree in their classroom! Way to go Grade 3!

Coventry Hills School, Calgary

Ms. Locke’s Grade 1 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students had lots of discussion about their own pets and experiences, following each story. The students were challenged to think about how animals feel, and how they would feel if they were in the same position. Bravo Grade 1!

Lighthouse Christian School, Sylvan Lake

Mrs. River’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students read the stories and did the activities that correspond with each book. Good job Grade 1!

Beacon Hill School, Fort McMurray

Miss Petruk’s Kindergarten Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students loved reading the stories and discussing what they thought was important about each book. Many of the students related their own personal experience owning a pet to the stories. Bravo Kinders!

Mrs. Cloutier’s Grade Four Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students read the stories and had a lot of class discussion after each book. Good job Grade 4!

Blackie School, Blackie

Mrs. Kavanagh’s Grade 1 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students demonstrated empathy through discussions based on their personal experiences. The students were able to draw connections with AnimalTales and topics in room, such as feelings they feel and how they use non-verbal cues just like animals! Great job Grade One!

Afton School of the Arts, Edmonton

Ms. Seecharan’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students makes a Kindness Tree and placed random acts of kindness on the branches. Buddy Unchained, and the discussion that followed, allowed students to think about issues surrounding how dogs are treated. Fantastic job Grade 3!

St. Theresa School, Wabasca

Mrs. Bailey’s Kindergarten Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students acted out ideas from some of the stories. A dog came an visited the class and the students demonstrated excellent understanding of reading the dog’s body cues when she was showing signs of being both happy and scared. Bravo Kinders!

Hill Crest Community School, La Crete

Mrs. Pitre’s Grade 4 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books and the activities, especially the Dollars and Sense Smart board activity, that accompanied the books. The students also participated in class discussions centered around the theme of each book. Way to go Grade 4!
