Virtual Used Book Fair!
Are you looking to add some well-loved, animal-themed picture books to your home or classroom library? We have a collection of books that have been previously used in the AnimalTales book program available for a small donation! All the books are in fair to good condition.
Build your own book package by selecting three (3) books from the selection below. With a donation of $30 you will receive three books of your choosing! This includes postage through Canada Post ($15-$20). There are limited quantities of each book. While quantities last.
To help facilitate discussion and further understanding, the discussion questions and activities from past teacher’s guides have been added to our website for you to use with each book. Visit the Books with Animals section of our website to see the resource.
Funds raised will be used to purchase new books for future updates to the AnimalTales book lending program!

How 'Used' is 'Used'?
All the books have made their way through Alberta classrooms for a number of years so there is some wear and tear. Many of the books are in great condition, however, for the books with damage the majority of ‘damage’ is to the removable sleeves of the books or to the ends of the spine. Scroll through the photos on the left to see examples of the books in the worst condition.
Any damage to the books does not impact the overall feel or effectiveness of the story, and all books have all pages intact.
How It Works
- Select three (3) books below to build your own package. Click on the button below each book for more information and to see the discussion questions and activities associated with each book.
- Complete the order form, at the bottom of this page, with your mailing and payment information.
- The package will be mailed within five business days and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you when it is mailed.
- All sales are final.
- An official tax receipt will be sent to you separately. For more information about tax receipts, contact donorrelations@albertaspca.org.
- PLEASE NOTE: Book packages can only be mailed to Alberta addresses.
