Mrs. Eady’s Grade 1 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books as well as the online video “I Want a Dog”. The students had great discussions after each book, as well as participated in role play activities where they demonstrated empathy.   Bravo Grade 1!

Paul First Nation School, Paul First Nation

Ms. Waters’ Grade 5 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the group discussion after each story they read. The program helped foster not only empathy and kindness in the students, but also critical thinking!   Good job Grade 5!

Mrs. Hiemstra’s Grade 3 students participated in the AnimalTales program. The students loved the books and discussions that followed. The students also enjoyed the animal cards, as well as making curiosity posters!   Bravo Grade 3!

Mrs. Szawlowski’s Grade 6 students participated in the AnimalTales program. The books were read as a class and had wonderful discussions after each story. Mr. Mandrusiak’s Grade 4 students participated in the AnimalTales program. The students were highly engaged with each book, as well as the discussion that followed.   Fantastic job Grade 4!

Brightview School, Edmonton

Mrs. Shortt’s students participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books, with the older students enjoying the discussion that followed and the younger students enjoying the activity cards best! The program helped Mrs. Shortt bridge the gap between being empathetic to animals and being empathetic to humans!   Great job students!

Calgary French & International School, Calgary

Ms. Bourgeois’ Grade 4 Class participated in the AnimalTales program.The students had excellent discussions around helping those who can’t advocate for themselves and making a difference in the world. The stories opened the students’ eyes to the reality that some animals face, and to the idea of adopting a pet.   Bravo Grade 4!

St. Teresa Elementary School, Edmonton

Mrs. Dawson’s Grade 5 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed each book and the discussion and activities that followed. The students particularly enjoyed writing poems from the point of view of animals, and had a great reflection on the story One Duck!   Fantastic job Grade 5!

Major General Griesbach School, Edmonton

Mrs. Kozak’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program! The students enjoyed reading each book as well as the discussion that followed. The students related many of the stories to their own pets, and experiences.   Fantastic job Grade 3!
