Helping teachers inspire compassion for animals, people & the environment

Mary Bergeron Elementary School, Edson

Mrs. Kent’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students were very engaged with each book. They were able to have real conversations with partners and groups about caring for animals. The students engaged in the activities following each story, putting themselves in other’s shoes.   Fantastic job Grade 3!

Eldorado Elementary School, Drayton Valley

Mrs. Flett’s Grade 1 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students loved the books, as well as the accompanying activities, which promoted a lot of discussion! The students shared their knowledge and experience of their animals after each story.   Bravo Grade 1!

La Perle School, Edmonton

Ms. Constable’s Grade 4 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The books sparked excellent conversations in the students that continued throughout the year. The students enjoyed the accompanying activities and even did a fundraising activity!   Way to go Grade 4!

St. Clare School, Calgary

Mrs. Mah’s Grade 1 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed reading the books and the discussions and activities that followed.   Good job Grade 1!

École Westhaven School

Mrs. Spreen’s Grade 4’s completed the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books and discussing their knowledge and experience with animals and pets after each book.   Good job Grade 4!

École Campbelltown

The Grade 3’s at Ecole Campbelltown completed the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed reading the stories and the discussions and activities that followed. Oh Theodore was used to promote perspective taking when working with poetry.   Bravo Grade 3!

Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour, Edmonton

Mr. Fric’s Grade 5 Class completed the Building Compassion Challenge 2018. The students showed kindness and compassion towards self, others, animals, and the environment for 15 consecutive days during the first two weeks of December!   Fantastic job Grade 5!

G. S. Lakie Middle School, Lethbridge

Mr. Smith’s mixed grade Shop Club (with help from his grade 8 class) built five dog houses as part of their school’s Community Dog House Project.
