Mrs. MacWilliam’s Grade 1 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books and subsequent discussions allowed the students to articulate their feelings. The students also enjoyed learning about fun turtle facts! Bravo, Grade 1!

Wainwright Elementary School, Wainwright

Mrs. Nelson’s Grade 2 Class participated in the AnimlTales program. The students enjoyed learning about service animals and thinking from an ant’s point of view. The students also had fun playing charades, allowing them to act out different emotions. Well done, Grade 2!

St. Clare School, Calgary

Ms. Petrillo’s Grade 5 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books that were read to them, and the discussions that followed. Good job, Grade 5!

Wembley Elementary School, Wembley

Mr. Beauvais’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed each story and the discussions that followed, which helped students demonstrate empathy. The books helped the students have a better understanding of what their local adoption organization does in their community, and why it is so important. Fantastic job, Grade Three!

Mr. Mandrusiak’s Grade 4 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the stories, finding them interesting and educational. The students realized that it is costly to own a pet and that all living things require the same needs. Bravo Grade 4!

Prince Charles School, Edmonton

Ms. Wanchuk’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed listening to the stories and the group discussion that followed each one. Way to go, Grade 3!

New Myrnam School, Myrnam

Mrs. Godziuk’s Grade Two Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed reading each story and the discussion and activities (written responses) that followed each book. The program was used in conjunction with their daily good character lessons; a natural fit!   Fantastic job, Grade 2!

St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary/Junior High Catholic School, Edmonton

Ms. Bruseker’s Grade Four Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the class discussions after each story and were able to take what they learned and apply it to their journal reflections. The program fit in nicely with their Kindness Month, in February.   Good job, Grade 4!

Eldorado Elementary School, Drayton Valley

Mrs. Flett’s Grade One Class participated in the AnimalTales program. Many of the students were able to relate their experience of visiting their community’s local animal shelter to the books, and shared their experience during the class discussions. Students made a lot of personal connections to all the stories!   Great job, Grade 1!
