HELPING TEACHERS INSPIRE COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS, PEOPLE & THE ENVIRONMENT

Kindness Map

Belvedere Parkway School, Calgary

Ms. Dunham’s Grade Five Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the books and the activities and discussion that took place after each story. Students learned new vocabulary, wrote personal responses, completed artwork pertaining to the themes of the books and even made a Kindness Tree!

The discussion students had were insightful and meaningful. They are now interested in learning more about responsible pet ownership (especially the challenges involved in caring for exotic animals), and wanting to raise awareness and donations for Calgary Humane Society, and other animal welfare organizations.

Way to go, Grade 5!
