HELPING TEACHERS INSPIRE COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS, PEOPLE & THE ENVIRONMENT

Kindness Map

McKenzie Towne School, Calgary

Mrs. Penner’s Grade 3 Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students had great discussions after reading each book, comparing and contrasting each book to the next. They also made a Kindness Tree which was an easy way to make their thinking visible. In Science, the students kept referring back to the Alberta SPCA during the Animal Life Cycles unit, and in Social Studies in their discussions around children’s rights, the students connected it to animal rights!

Fantastic job Grade 3!
