HELPING TEACHERS INSPIRE COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS, PEOPLE & THE ENVIRONMENT

Kindness Map

Rutherford School, Edmonton

Mrs. Bell’s grade 5 class raised money throughout the year and added funds to a charity jar. The plan was to select three organizations at the end of the year to divide the money between, one that helps animals, another that helps people and the final helping the environment. Due to the fire in Fort McMurray students decided it was imperative to act now! They decided to donate to the Red Cross, helping families impacted by the Fort McMurray fire and the Alberta SPCA, organizing the pet rescue and reunification efforts (the environmental group hasn’t been decided on yet.)

Students raised money through bake sales and popcorn sales.

Way to go grade 5! Thanks for making a difference for animals, people and the environment across the province.
