HELPING TEACHERS INSPIRE COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS, PEOPLE & THE ENVIRONMENT

Kindness Map

Woodbine School, Calgary

Ms. Fornier’s Grade Two Class participated in the AnimalTales program. The students enjoyed the stories and the discussion and activities that followed each book. The Bug Girl was a big hit! Students could relate because it was about a girl their age. Students talked about their individual interests and pursing them. Then students created a drawing of themselves with thoughts bubbles of their interests and shared with each other.

Lots of discussion was had about body language in people and animals and how it is a form of communication. Students were able to make connections to their classroom pet, Thistle the hedgehog, and how her body language lets us know how she feels.

Fantastic job, Grade 2!
