Dear Teachers,
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to students in this exceptional time. The need for caring for others is becoming ever more salient and we recognize and value the important role of teachers and learning communities in proving support and care that impact students, families, and the greater community.
With this in mind, our theme for next year is caring communities. Caring communities are connected, inclusive and collaborative. Being engaged and active in our community benefits those who contribute and care for each other and our collective well-being is served by these relationships.
Animals are also an important part of our communities and they play a vital role. We have co-existed with them, both domestic and wild, for thousands of years and we rely on them.Animals are often part of our families, we depend on them for food, and for many other roles. We also share space with them in both rural and urban environments. By working together, empathizing with others, and demonstrating care for all, we are improving our communities for everyone and every living thing.
Stay tuned for the new poster and curricular-linked activities available in September. We are committed to providing resources that suit your needs whether you are teaching virtually or in a classroom. We also remain dedicated to developing engaging resources that foster empathy and compassion, building a better world for animals, people and the environment.
If you have any specific requests or ideas, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us at education@albertaspca.org or feel free to leave a comment below.
We wish you a safe and revitalizing summer.
